The fatality rates for accidents involving powered access equipment in the construction industry have declined, according to the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). Despite an increase in reports, the number of deaths in 2022 decreased compared to the previous year. Falls from platforms and overturns were the leading causes of incidents resulting in deaths or major injuries. The report highlights the importance of increased reporting and the impact of safety campaigns and guidance in promoting a safer working environment. Efforts to improve incident reporting and prevention are encouraged.
