NIOSH leads the fifth annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents, starting April 15, 2024, coinciding with National Work Zone Awareness Week.
Aimed at reducing struck-by incidents in construction work zones, given their significant impact on worker safety, with 168 fatalities and 14,000 nonfatal injuries recorded in 2020.
NIOSH collaborates with partners like the NORA Construction Sector Council and the Center for Construction Research and Training to enhance workplace safety through research and guidance.
The event includes a live stream on the ARTBA YouTube channel on April 15 and a webinar on April 18 focused on strategies for managing internal traffic control plans to prevent accidents.
