Ahmed Al-Bayati, an assistant professor and founding director of the Construction Safety Research Center at Lawrence Technological University, studied the reasons for PPE noncompliance among construction workers. The research identified 16 contributing factors, with lack of enforcement by supervisors being the most significant. The study emphasizes the importance of management support, proper training, and frontline supervisor enforcement to improve PPE compliance. Surprisingly, cultural and language barriers were found to be less significant contributors. Further research will focus on Hispanic workers and studying factors that influence frontline supervisors’ safety performance
